About The Show
The Unstarving Musician features interviews with independent music artists and music industry professionals who share their experience and expertise on recording, touring, gigs, the creative process, marketing, and more. It’s the podcast intended to help independent music artists better understand the marketing, business and creative processes that empower us to do more of what we love–make music.
The Interview Format
The Unstarving Musician features 45-60 minute conversational interviews where we explore what’s working and what’s not working in your music journey. I strive to give listeners a glimpse into your world while sharing stories, tips, and lessons they can apply to their own careers.
What Makes an Ideal Guest
Guests should be prepared to:
- Share both successes and challenges from their experience
- Provide actionable insights, strategies, and lessons that independent musicians can apply
- Balance mentioning their current projects with sharing substantive value for listeners
- Promote the episode to their audience after it’s released
While we welcome guests promoting current projects, our primary focus is providing actionable value to our listeners rather than serving as a promotional platform. The most successful guests understand this balance.
