Facebook has surpassed MySpace in the impact it’s had on marketing efforts for my local bands, although I don’t discount MySpace as a useful platform (more to come on that). Hopefully your band members are on Facebook, and hopefully they have at least couple hundred friends near the places that your band performs. Facebook seems to change as fast as the social media scene in general, but today, the Facebook Page is the place to have your band. You’ll want to post your shows and fan worthy news. Be sure to include links and pictures in your Events and posts. Don’t be afraid to be a little shameless when you launch your band’s Page. Ask all your friends to Like your page. Once you get the hang of it, you’ll find venues asking you to co-market via Facebook. That’s a really good thing!

Here’s a helpful Facebook link.
