Krosst Out headshotMy guest in this episode is alternative/nu-punk artist Krosst Out. His latest song, This The New Shit, drops on May 12th, 2023. The single is the first of many to come from rap-rocker Krosst Out with the announcement of his forthcoming album I Had A Dream I Didn’t Have Eyes.

The first time we spoke was in March 2018, when Krosst Out had recently released his first album. That conversation was for Unstarving Musician episode 43. Today K.O. claims he’s grown as a songwriter, performer, and music artist. He also says his latest release is the perfect introductory track to his new sound and a new era in his music.

We talk about this, his new sound, collaborations and his collaboration wishlist, introspection of his lyrics, tour plans, rethinking the music business, unconventional release strategy, and more.

“I Had A Dream I Didn’t Have Eyes is a deconstruction of my thoughts on the world. I found my meaning through Phone Calls With Ghosts but this album is an expression of how life has no meaning, and coming to terms with that. I wanted to showcase these thoughts the best I could and it took on a sort of Kafkaesque motif” – Krosst Out on his upcoming third project.
